Traditional Old Pubs!

There's nothing quite like popping into a most enchanting old pub, steeped with character and history, nestled within possibly the smallest hamlet in the Garden of England. I do love quaint old pubs with low beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplaces, and old oak well worn floorboards that creak with every step!

Not only do I thoroughly enjoy these charming old pubs, but to find one with real crackling fires, and good old English food is for me a real treat, especially after enjoying a most energetic whip cracking rendezvous!

Pubs are where many myths and stories are told, some may stretch the imagination, yet they become so deeply woven into the fabric of these beloved buildings, it leaves a trail of intrigue and curiosity that often navigates my return to indulge further!

I certainly had that very pleasure today, and it all started with a whip cracking session, from slow gentle swishing slaps to a few belting rounds of crisp cool thwacks! As I've often mentioned, it does take a strong willed individual, with either a stubborn or determined mind, and one who is truly masochistic enjoying the rituals of sharp intense sensations that can leave one experiencing trembles from an endorphin high. It's the 'feel good' chemicals that can lower stress, improve ones mood and enhance ones sense of well-being!

Naturally, after an exhausting and most entertaining few hours, it was time to enjoy a leisurely stroll before devouring a hearty meal of wild boar, parsnip and cider pie, with buttery mash and cider gravy, all washed down with a glass of beer, or two!!!

Thank you to a most charming, gracious gentleman for a superb fun day! Oh just in case you're wondering, yes, your fit toned body didn't go unnoticed!!!

Here are just a few photos of me enjoying my stroll through the park!

Oh my gorgeous leather boots did receive a superb clean!
